A program created by the Department of Veterans Affairs for wartime veterans and their surviving spouses. This program helps make assisted living an affordable option to many seniors who may have thought it was not possible. You and your spouse may be eligible for up to $2,020 to supplement the monthly cost of assisted living; $1704 for a single veteran and $1094 for a surviving spouse. Aid and Attendance is a mandatory pension and is not subject to discretionary federal budget cuts. For more information about Aid and Attendance, feel free to contact Veteran Liaison, Pat Yngstrom at 516-286-5813. A Veteran himself, he is here to help guide you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
